Criminal Court has scheduled the first hearing of Shiaau Mohamed Saeed's murder trial for Sunday.

Ali Shahil, 23, who was arrested from the crime scene in relation to the murder of Shiaau Mohamed Saeed would be facing a total of five charges during the trial hearing scheduled for 11:00am tomorrow. The trial will be conducted behind closed doors.

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) had previously stated that Shahil is being charged with using a sharp object to cause the death of another person under Clause 5 of the Act on Prohibiting Threatening and Possession of ‎Dangerous Weapons and Sharp Objects.

In addition to this, he is also facing four other charges, including possession of pornography and the use of cannabis. However, the details of the other two charges remain unclear.

The PGO stated that those two charges are being kept a secret as to respect the family of the deceased.

Shahil remains the sole suspect in the murder.
