Bank of Maldives Plc. (BML) has allocated MVR 24 per share based off of the share profits of the past year.
The decision was taken after a meeting of board of directors. The bank allocated MVR 22 per share for 2017.
Board members are set to submit a proposal to shareholders, appealing that MVR 24 per share is allocated from share profits this year, at the Annual General Meeting.
While the total dividend came out to MVR 129,166,080, this amount will be divided among shareholders at the AGM this year.
BML has stated that they will be publishing the notice, agenda as well as other documents concerning the AGM on their website.
The final quarter of last year brought in MVR 277 million for the bank in clear profits while the Third Quarter brought in MVR 365 million in profits.
The clear profits for Bank of Maldives in 2017 was MVR 1.416 billion.
