The Civil Court has ordered Public Service Media (PSM) to pay MVR 9.3 million to MediaNet.
The ruling comes in a case by MediaNet, where they are seeking an order over PSM to continue payments for services provided by MediaNet including an overdue payment of MVR 9.3 million. This overdue payment also includes interest charges for failure to make the payment on time.
PSM had agreed that they are due to pay channel riding fees from the MVR 9.3 million but had stated that they are not required to pay the interest charges.
MVR 5 million from the MVR 9 million is to be paid for the services MediaNet had provided to PSM, while MVR 4.2 million is to be paid as part of the interest charges.
However, the Civil Court had ruled that PSM must pay the interest charges as well and had ordered the company to pay MediaNet the full amount of MVR 9.3 million. PSM was given a total of 30 days to pay the money.
