Maldives Parliament has revealed that the inaugural sitting of the Parliament for this year has been scheduled for February 6th.

According to the Parliament, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will deliver the presidential address at the inaugural sitting of the Parliament as per the constitution.

According to Article 84 of the Constitution, the President is required to give his annual presidential address at the first meeting of the Parliament each year. In this address, he will inform the Parliament of the Maldives' current situation, including its successes and difficulties, as well as his plans for the future of the nation.

The Parliament concluded the last session for 2022 on November 28th, after having completed 54.7 percent of tasks.
