Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said the B. Dharavandhoo Coastal Protection project has been completed.
MTCC said scope of works for the project include construction of a 470m breakwater, 96m revetment and 10,800cbm beach filling operations.
The project is valued at MVR 22.1 million.
MTCC was awarded the project by Planning and Housing Ministry on 25 November 2021 to be completed within 180 days.
MTCC said on Sunday that B. Dharavandhoo has suffered great erosion, and that with the coastal protection project, the island would no longer suffer from environmental factors. The island has 14 guesthouses in operation, MTCC said.
