Male' City Council has decided to cease operations of the 'Neelan Fihaara', the second-hand market at the current location until a new plot of land is allotted from a different area.

During a meeting held last night, the council decided that they can no longer accommodate operations of the second-hand market in its current location, and had decided to request the government to grant land from either Male' or Hulhumale' industrial zones to run the market.

Male' City Mayor Mohamed Muizzu further said that even if the market is moved to the industrial village in the city, the operations would be carried out under a set rule and regulation.

A massive fire that broke out at the market this Monday had burnt it down to ashes completely.
