President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the construction of a hospital in Baa Atoll Thulhadhoo will be contracted during the month of February.

Speaking during a campaign event in Thulhadhoo for his MDP Presidential Primary bid, the President noted that the construction of a hospital on the island was part of his presidential pledges that had been delayed.

He further stated that the project will be contracted as a direct award, with construction beginning in February itself. He reiterated that these were not empty promises and that the government will fulfill its pledges.

President Solih is facing off Speaker of Parliament Mohmed Nasheed in the primary which has been set for January 28th.
