President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited Noonu Atoll today, as part of his ongoing campaign for the MDP Presidential Primary.
As part of the visit, the President had first visited Noonu Atoll Kendhikulhudhoo, and was received with a warm welcome on the island at 11:00am this morning.
Members of MDP had met with the President during this visit.
During this visit, the President is expected to visit a total of three islands in the Noonu Atoll. He will be visiting Manadhoo and Velidhoo apart from Kendhikulhudhoo.
He will also take part in a campaign rally at Velidhoo.
President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed also wrapped up a two-day visit to Alifushi Island in the Raa Atoll on Friday. On Alifushi Island, the President and the First Lady attended the official function to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities for 2022.
On Alifushi Island, the President and the First Lady inaugurated the new multi-purpose hall built at the island’s school. President Solih also met with members of the atoll council, island council, and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Alifushi Island.
A senior government delegation accompanied the President and the First Lady on the visit.
