Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has cleaned up an oil spill near the Presidential Jetty.

MNDF revealed that the Maritime Rescue Coordinate Center (MRCC) had received reports of an oil spill inside the lagoon near the jetty area around 9:00am. They added that since reports of an oil spill near MPL were also reported, the Coast Guard Divers and Oil Pollution Response Team carried out clean-up works.

They further revealed that the oil spill near the jetty was contained with the help of a booming and cleaned up.
