Malaysia will endorse temperature screening checks for fever amidst concern over rising Covid-19 cases in China, the country announces.
Malaysian Health Minister Zaliha Mustafa said on Friday that travellers presenting with fever or are symptomatic will be sent to a quarantine centre or to health authorities for further checks.
She further added that those who have traveled to China within the last 14 days of their arrival to the country will be required to take an RTK-Ag test.
Zaliha added that positive samples will be sent for genome testing as well.
Malaysian authorities have stated that the measures were part of Malaysia's increased surveillance for Covid-19 to curb the spread of the virus and monitor possible new variants.
