President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih departed for Sri Lanka on Thursday in time for the New Year Holidays.

Spokesperson Miuvan Mohamed told 'One' on Thursday that President Solih has departed to Lanka on an unofficial visit and will return on Monday.

President Solih is accompanied on this trip by First Lady Fazna Ahmed. Spokesperson Miuvan did not provide any further details.

President Solih frequents Lanka as some of his family resides there.
