Maldives Transport and Networking Company (MTCC) has said R. Maakurathu Harbour Development Project is well underway.

MTCC said the installation of harbour pavement and dredging operations of the new harbour basin is complete and the old harbour maintenance works are currently ongoing.

Scope of work for the project include 45,024cbm of harbor dredging operations, construction of a 140m breakwater, a 129m quay wall, an 85m revetment, a 28m groyne, and installation of 641sqm pavement.

The project is valued at MVR 26.67 million.
