The foundation of 100 housing units being developed in Laamu Atoll Gan has been laid.

In a ceremony held today at Gan, the foundation of the 100 housing units was laid by State Minister for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Akram Kamaluddin, Gan MP Mohammed Wisam, council members of the Island, and WDC members.

SJ Construction Pvt Ltd was awarded the contract in May this year for MVR 84.2 million. Under the project100 housing units of 1000 sqft will be constructed.

Each housing unit will have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry, and storeroom. It was also agreed to light up the units, establish a park and construct a parking zone for vehicles to provide a comfortable environment for the residents.

The project was awarded for completion within one year.
