The governments of India and the Maldives have signed three different agreements yesterday as part of the ongoing visit of the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Shushma Swaraj.

The agreements signed were an agreement on Exemption from Visa Requirement for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, a Memorandum of Understanding regarding Indian Grant Assistance for Implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects through Local Bodies and a Memorandum of Understanding on Collaboration in the Field of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Discussions were also held yesterday on India providing aid to the Maldives in the Defence, Health, Business, Economy and Capacity Development.

The Indian Minister of External Affairs also made a courtesy call on the Maldivian Speaker of Parliament, Qasim Ibrahim yesterday.
