President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is set to visit Huvadhoo Atoll this Friday.

Undersecretary at the President's Office, Mohamed Hisan Ali Fahmy revealed to One Online that the trip by President Solih was part of the event to mark the completion of Gaafu Alif Dhaandhoo Land Reclamation Project.

Several sources have reported that following the official events of scheduled for the trip, President Solih will engage in campaign activities as part of his Presidential Primary campaign. However, an official confirmation on such reports is yet to be received.

During a meeting of the National Council of MDP at Salt Cafe on December 19th, President Solih appointed key figures to his campaign. As such, Kinbidhoo MP Mohamed Nashiz has been appointed as the campaign manager while Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi will be leading the campaign in Male' City, and Thulhadhoo MP Hisan Hussain will be the legal director of the campaign.

In addition to this, Former Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Reeko Moosa Manik was also appointed to lead all jagaha activities.

Over 100 members of the MDP National Council had attended a meeting at Salt Cafe & Restaurant last night, on an invitation extended by the President. That is about 80 percent of the council.

A member who attended the meeting last night revealed to One Online that apart from appointing a Campaign Manager and a lead for Male' City alongside the legal director, a senior team to work in the campaign was also finalized last night. The member noted that the team included 15 members.

The member further revealed that while the campaign team will be visiting all of the islands, President Solih will join on as many trips as he could.
