High Court on Monday orders to hold the MVR 4.5 million payment Civil Court ordered Public Service Media (PSM) to pay Artisan Pvt Ltd.

Artisan had taken to PSM to Civil Court over unpaid dues for work done on PSM's request.

Artisan appealed at Civil Court to order PSM to make payments of MVR 4.5 million for the pending invoices as well as the legal fees for the case. Artisan also appealed for MVR 11.3 million as compensation for damages from PSM.

Civil Court ruled that PSM owes Artisan MVR 4.5 million in pending payments. As such, the Court ordered PSM to pay the dues as well as MVR 16,695 as the legal fees, totalling up to MVR 4.51 million within 3 months. Civil Court however added that they did not have sufficient grounds to make a claim for damages.

PSM appealed the order at High Court and sought a temporary order to halt the Civil Court ruling.

As such, High Court on Monday ruled that the MVR 4.5 million should not be released to anyone until High Court makes a judgement on the case.
