Maldives Police Service said they are unsure when Nishama Mohamed’s body can be taken for autopsy.

Nishama was found dead in her residence in HDh. Nhivaram on Saturday.

Nishama’s body was brought to Malé City last Sunday for further investigation into the suspicious death.

When asked about the delay in sending her body for autopsy, Police Media Officer told ‘One’ they are unsure when her body can be sent for autopsy.

Prior to this case, autopsies have been conducted in a speedy manner in murder cases and suspicious deaths.

Nishama’s husband Abubakr Faisal has been accused of killing her. Faisal was arrested under a Court order on Saturday night. Faisal is currently in critical care at Kulhudhuffushi Hospital after attempting to take his own life while in remand.
