Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has awarded the Harbour Development Project of Shaviyani Atoll Milandhoo to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Director General at the Planning Ministry, Fatima Shana Farooq signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry, while the CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim signed on behalf of the company during aa ceremony held at the Ministry.

MTCC was awarded the contract for further development of Milandhoo Harbour. The project is expected to be completed in 600 days at a cost of MVR 79.9 million.

The project's scope includes constructing a jetty and installing 42 additional lights at the port. It also includes dredging of harbor and harbor channels.

Following the ceremony, Adam Azim noted Milandhoo Harbour will become one of the best harbours in the Maldives after the completion of the project.
