Maldives Customs Service siezes 17.26kg of drugs brought into Maldives via air from Pakistan.

Customs said on Wednesday that a 30-year-old Pakistani man's luggage was checked on 18 September after he raised suspicion at the airport. The man was found carrying 17.26kg of drugs with him.

The drugs tested positive to heroine, Customs said. The street value of the drugs seized by Customs is MVR 21 million, Customs said.

The Pakistani national and the drugs have been handed over to Police, Customs said.

Customs has seized 55.4kg of drugs so far this year.
