Cruise Liners arriving to the Maldives have resumed pre-pandemic norms, as the most recent cruise began port tours in Male' City.

The 'Seven Seas Explorer' that set off on its voyage from India's Bengaluru arrived at Male' yesterday. This is. a 750-person capacity cruise, operated by Norway's Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

The cruise previously frequented the Maldives as well.

Maldives Association of Yacht Agents (MAYA) revealed to One Online today that about 700 tourists arrived on the cruise. While a lot of tourists visited Male' City both yesterday and today, this marks the first time tourists have visited the city after arriving on a cruise since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

Those who visited Male' had opted to travel to nearby resorts and islands and explored around the area. The cruise is expected to depart today.

The first cruise to arrive in the Maldives post-Covid-19 lockdown was during the month of November, however, no tourists had visited the city.

MAYA further revealed that two more cruises are expected to arrive this month, with 11 others expected during the season.
