Hulhumale' Development Corporation (HDC) has announced a major integrated tourism project under 'Urban Isle' in Hulhumale' Phase II.
The 'Urban Isle' will be developed at the northernmost part of Hulhumale' Phase II with various tourism accommodations and facilities. As such, the tourism facilities will accommodate holidaying tourists and those transiting in Maldives, and digital nomads.
The 'Urban Isle' will include luxury villas, service apartments, city hotels, mid-scale and upscale hotel and guesthouses in addition to branded retail and top notch restaurants.

HDC said that with Velana International Airport (VIA) being connected to the 'Urban Isle', tourism would prosper in the area. As such, the 'Urban Isle' would be a great investment opportunity for businesses.
HDC added that the infrastructure being developed at 'Urban Isle' would also greatly benefit the investors in the future. HDC said the operation is prioritising building a utility network, open access network and smart infrastructure that would be environment friendly. In addition to that, HDC said that investors can submit lease-model, joint-venture, and other model proposals for investments.
HDC noted that this project will have a positive impact on Maldivian economy as well businesses in tourism sector and real estate. HDC further added that the 'Urban Isle' will also promote medium enterprises as well.
