Ashraf Ali appointed as Deputy Home Minister

Ashraf Ali has been appointed as Deputy Minister at Ministry of Home Affairs.

President's Office made the announcement on Wednesday that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ashraf Ali as Deputy Minister.

Prior to his appointment, Ashraf served as the Dean and President of two private higher education institutions - Avid College and Alimas Academy. He has also served as the President of Dhivehi Bahuge Academy.

Ashraf also received the SAARC Literary Award in 2019.

Home Ministry currently has two other Deputy Ministers. Deputy Ministers receive a salary of MVR 20,500 and MVR 15,000 as allowance.
