The High Court of the Maldives is expected to go on recess starting next week.

High Court on Wednesday noted that as per their regulations, the Judges Majilis has decided to go on recess starting December 1st. According to the High Court regulations, the court will be on recessing following the last working day in December.

Even though the court is going on recess, trial hearings where verdicts will be issued is expected to move forward in addition to cases which need to be finished within a certain time frame according to law.

This will also include cases which needs to be fast-tracked, as well as cases where the Judges Bench agrees on a fast-tracked verdict.
