Road Development Corporation (RDC) has said that the asphalt works on Ameenee Magu are progressing according to plan.

RDC released a statement on Tuesday debunking rumours stating that the Ameenee Magu development project is halted. RDC said the project is going ahead as planned.

RDC said the Ameenee Magu project is being carried out together with multiple other institutions. As such, RDC said the Corporation is currently waiting for MWSC to provide further resources.

RDC added that Ameenee Magu segment 1 works have been completed pending asphalt works, and that arrangements have been made to work around the clock if needed, to finish the project on time.

RDC further added that the asphalt works on Ameenee Magu will be completed in two phases. As such, asphalt works will commence once the road works have been completed near Billabong area. However, RDC said the roads will be opened up to allow vehicles regardless of asphalt works once the other works have been completed.
