An-Nabeela Habeeba Hussain Habeeb has passed away.

An-Nabeela Habeeba Hussain Habeeb - Al-Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddin's grandchild and recipient of the Order of Nishan Dhiyamigili - served the nation at various levels for over 49 years.

She is renowned for her contributions to Maldivian history and literature. She served at the National Library for 29 years, and also served as the President's Member of Parliament as well. An-Nabeel Habeeba also contributed to the education sector as well.

During her time at the National Library, An-Nabeel Habeeba served as Librarian, Deputy Director, and Director. She authored multiple books and contributed to various magazines such as Viyafaari Miadhu, Adhabee Shu'ooru, Huvandhu, Amaazu, Hiyala, and Faiythoora.

An-Nabeela Habeeba also translated multiple Urdu and English books into Dhivehi, and authored 'Dhivehi Thaareekhah Avas Kalhieh'. She also received the multiple national awards for her services to Maldivian history and literature.

An-Nabeel Habeeba passed away in IGMH while undergoing medical treatment.
