A teacher has been arrested and ordered to be kept in remand until end of trial for sexually harassing female students.

Education Ministry told media on Monday that a Maldivian teacher has been suspended following reports of sexual harassment of female students at HA. Atoll School. The Ministry said the case has been handed over to Police for further investigations.

Police Media Officer told 'One' on Monday that the teacher has been accused of harassing a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old student on 15 November 2022.

As such, a 49-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested on 17 November 2022 and will be remanded until the end of the trial.
