Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam has stated that the recipients of the 'Binveriya' scheme will be shortlisted in May 2023.

Minister Aslam made the remarks while speaking at the National Development and Heritage Committee meeting last week. He said the applications are being reviewed for the 'Gedhoruveriya' and 'Binveriya' scheme.

"The President should put together a special committee to assess the applications. Once the committee has been formed and they have assessed the applications, we are hopeful we can announce the recipients by May next year," Minister Aslam said.

He added that work is pending on identifying the land plots to be given from Hulhumale' and Gulhi Falhu under this scheme.

A total 15,164 forms have been submitted for the 'Gedhoruveriya' scheme for 1000 land plots in Hulhumale' and 2000 land plots in Gulhi Falhu.
