Bodies of fire victims at M. Nirufehi have been flown back to their respective home countries.
Ten people had died in a fire that broke out at a garage on the ground floor of the building. This included five Indian men and three women, and one Bangladeshi man and woman.
A media officer for the Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed to One Online that the bodies of the fire victims have since been flown back to their home countries.
As per the Police, the garage that was being run in the building was permitted to be operating in Hulhumale.
While the clean-up of the building is ongoing, a limb of a person had been discovered. Though, it remains unclear whether the limb belongs to one of the deceased or not.
The Media Officer further confirmed that they have taken DNA samples from the limb and is investigating to establish who the person was.
