The largest Pay TV and cable TV operator in the Maldives, Medianet has stated that there are no restrictions on non-commercial public viewing events of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the operator stated that they are following the guidelines set by FIFA with regard to the World Cup viewing events.

As such, they noted that Non-Commercial Public Viewing Events are permitted under the regulations, and such events will not have any restrictions by the operator.

However, they stressed that holding such events for commercial profit is strictly prohibited, adding that the necessary action will be taken by Medianet against those who violate the regulations.
