Over MVR 150,000 has been raised for the aid fund by Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives for victims of the devastating fire that broke out at M. Nirufehi last Wednesday.

The fund was created to provide essential aid to the victims of the fire. As such, the fund will be utilized to provide food and shelter to those affected by the fire.

They revealed via Twitter on Sunday that within 24 hours, the fund had collected MVR 142,765.72 and USD 693. This totals up to MVR 153,451. They further noted that they appreciate the overwhelming response, adding that they will continue to update the progress every 12 hours.

The fund will be receiving donations till 12:00 midnight on the 13 of November 2022. Those who wish to donate can do so by transferring to Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives BML: (MVR) 7730000378559 or BML: (USD) 7730000378560. Following donations, they request to share payment receipts to 7384994 (Viber/Whatsapp).

The fire saw 10 deaths, which has been marked as the most devastating fire in recent history.
