Nine survivors of the fire that broke out at M. Nirufehi last night have been provided temporary shelter by the National Disaster Management Authority (NMDA).
NMDA Emergency Respond Service Manager Faroosha Ali revealed to One Online that six women and three men survived the fire at Nirufehi. She added that they have been provided with temporary shelter by the authority.
She noted that while all of the survivors are expatriates, their exact nationality remains unknown as of yet.
She further highlighted that many households were evicted from the area due to the fire, some of whom had opted to stay with their families.
While the death toll in the fire has climbed to 10 so far, authorities reveal that all dead are foreigners.
