Dhiraagu has signed on as the Digital Partner for Vaavoshi Turtle Festival 2022.

The festival is organised by the Olive Ridley Project and is the first multi-atoll festival to take place in the Maldives. The festival is set to take place in N. Lhohi, R. Fainu, B. Goidhoo, Lh. Hinnavaru, K. Huraa, K. Maafushi, V. Keyodhoo, and S. Feydhoo on 29 October 2022.

The festival will be held in collaboration with the islands' schools, and the participation of students up to Grade 12. Vaavoshi Turtle Festival 2022 aims to celebrate the sea turtle population in the Maldives while highlighting and raising awareness about threats to turtles and other marine life in the Maldives.

The festival includes activities such as beach clean-ups, 'Conservation Conversations' awareness sessions by different environmental organisations, as well as a Vaavoshi Festival Rally for students to pledge to protect sea turtles.

A nation-wide poster design competition was also opened for students earlier this month.

Dhiraagu said they remain committed to supporting initiatives that focus on conserving the environment, which is a key focus of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
