Football Association of Maldives (FAM)'s power has been cut by STELCO over MVR 6.5 million in unpaid electricity bills.
STELCO Tweeted that FAM's power has been cut on Sunday due to unpaid bills.
STELCO stated that the decision to cut the power was made after various attempts to recover the unpaid dues, including the option to provide a payment plan which FAM failed to do.
STELCO's media officer told 'One' on Sunday that FAM has not paid electricity bills since September 2019.
STELCO also stated that the company is in discussions to cut power from other FAM buildings if the Association continues to evade bill payments.
