Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has released the temporary results of Census 2022.

According to MSB statistics, the expat population has increased by 33,527 in the past 8 years. As per the temporary results, the total number of expats living in Maldives is 97,160 compared to the 63,637 expats in 2014 Census.

MSB said the number of expats living in the Maldives has increased by 65% since 2014.

MSB data showed that the Maldives population has increased by 16,897 in 3 years. As per the documented population, there are 355,331 Maldivians living in Maldives compared to 338,434 in 2014.

MSB said they have completed 89% of the census for the Maldivians. MSB is working on collecting data to complete the Census.
