The seven adults arrested over 21-year-old Mohamed Zayan Moosa's murder will be charged in the coming week, Police said.

Zayan passed aware on 3 June at Addu Equatorial Hospital after being stabbed multiple times.

Police said 11 people - 4 minors, and 7 adults - have been arrested over Zayan's murder, while speaking to the press on Wednesday night.

Two of the minors have confessed to the crime after being charged at the Juvenile Court. One of the minors was charged with intentional murder while the other 3 were charged with taking part in a murder.

Inspector Samih, Head of Death and Homicide Investigation Unit, said that Police will complete the investigation to charge the adults arrested in the case.

The adults arrested over Zayan's murder are:

  • Abdulla Rasheed, 22, Dhirimaage/S.Feydhoo
  • Ails Ali, 29, Fufoomaage/S.Feydhoo
  • Ahmed Nabeel, 32, Sunshine/S.Feydhoo
  • Ahmed Shujau, 24, Dhirmaage/S.Feydhoo
  • Yaish Anwar, 19, Kadhurumaage/S.Feydhoo
  • Ahmed Abdulla, 25, Karanfooge/S.Feydhoo

Inspector Samih added that Police had covered enough evidence to charge the adults with Zayan's murder.
