Maldives Media Council (MMC) has revealed that its Maldives Journalism Awards will be held on November 12th.

MMC President, Mohamed Shafaau had confirmed in a video interview on Tuesday that the award function will be held in November.

The council had previously revealed that they had received 82 applications over 12 categories for the award.

The award categories for the year include; investigative journalism, sustainable development and social, political, judiciary and law, business and economy, sports, photo journalism, video journalism, graphics and illustration, feature, promising journalist, and journalist of the year.

MMC added that they have received applications in all of the categories.
