President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is scheduled to visit K. Kaashidhoo to celebrate Farmers Day.

Spokesperson Mohamed Miuvaan made the announcement at a press conference held at President's Office on Thursday to discuss the economic status of Maldives.

Miuvaan stated that President Solih will travel to Kaashidhoo on Sunday.

"President Solih will travel to Kaashidhoo on Sunday to participate in the Farmers Day celebrations," Miuvaan told the press.

He added that President Solih is currently in Singapore undergoing medical treatment for thyroid.

While Farmer's Day celebrations are being held in Kaashidhoo this year, Fishermen's Day celebrations are scheduled to be held at GDh. Fares Maathodaa.

The administration decided on October 15 as Farmers Day in 2020.

President's Office has also stated that World Food Day will also be celebrated in the same island as the Farmer's Day celebrations.

Kaashidhoo island is popular for its agriculture.
