Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued yellow alert for two regions citing torrential rain and gusts of 45 miles per hour.

MET issued the yellow alert from Sh. Atoll to Lh. Atoll, and Vaavu Atoll to GA. Atoll. The alerts were issued until 1730hrs on Thursday.

A MET Official told 'One' on Thursday that the weather is expected to be better starting Monday. As such, travelers are advised to practice caution while traveling.

Additionally, during the yellow alert, vessels smaller that 9 metres cannot operate, and a special permit is needed for vessels to operate during an orange alert.
