Uz. Ibrahim Mahir has been appointed as the Chief Judge at the Family Court.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) revealed that the advisory committee on appointing judges had interviewed candidates who had applied for the position and advised to appoint Ibrahim Mahir as the Chief Judge of the Family Court.
Mahir was first appointed as a judge at the Civil Court on November 9th, 2005. In 2010, he shifted to the Family Court as a judge, where he has served for over 12 years in the capacity of a judge.
The operations of the Family Court were handed over to Mahir in the interim during the month of June, after then Chief Judge Huzaifa Mohamed was appointed to the High Court.
