Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said that search is still on going for the man who went missing from the speedboat found overturned near AA. Maalhos.
MPS said they searched a 8,573m area for Mohamed Minhaj, 28, Minhaa, Addu City who has been missing since 5th October.
"Search is still ongoing for the missing man," MPS said.
The second man said to have been traveling on the speedboat with Minhaj was found in AA. Feridhoo and received medical treatment at Feridhoo Health Centre before being discharged.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has also joined the search for Minhaj, searching 750 nautical miles. Additionally, MNDF's Coast Guard ship Shaheed Ali and Coast Guard fast intercepter craft 'Hakuraa' has also been utilised to search 270 nautical miles without avail.
MNDF has appealed to public to come forth if they have any information on Minhaj, and to reach them on the Coast Guard hotline 191 or 339-5981 or 339-8898 or text 993-1082 via Viber.
MPS is currently investigating the incident but is yet to disclose information regarding it.
