President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that timely and affordable access to mental health services must be a guaranteed right for all.

The president's remarks came in a tweet on the occasion of World Mental Health day, celebrated across the globe on October 10th.

In his tweet, he also called for a whole-of-society approach to bolster our commitment to raising awareness and making mental health and well-being for all a global priority.

The theme for this year's Mental Health Day is "Making Mental Health & Well-Being for All a Global Priority".

While we celebrate the World Mental Health Day, the government had taken key steps in ensuring mental health access to all. As such, a mental health center was opened in Hulhumale' Hospital today, while access to mental healthcare is being established in various regional hospitals.
