Search has commenced for a missing person after a speedboat traveling from Malé to AA. Ukulhas capsized.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) received a no contact report about the speedboat on Thursday, MPS said. Two Maldivian men are said to have been traveling on the Speedboat.

The speedboat was discovered overturned by some fishermen off the coast of AA. Maalhos on Friday morning. There was no one on the speedboat when it was discovered.

MPS said one of the passengers has since been found off the coast of AA. Feridhoo. The man is currently undergoing medical treatment at Feridhoo Health Centre.

MPS said search is ongoing for the second man who is yet to be found.

MPS urged the public to contact via 119 or 3322111 if anyone has information regarding the missing man.
