Transport Minister, Aishath Nahula, has said that the Ministry is coming across unlawfully registered vehicles, and that such registrations will be cancelled.
Minister Nahula Tweeted on Thursday that the Ministry's audits are showing more vehicles that have been registered unlawfully.
"We will cancel the registration of vehicles registered unlawfully. We urge everyone to register their vehicles according to the regulations," Minister Nahula said.
Minister Nahula noted that the current administration has a zero tolerance to corruption policy, and that the Ministry will take action against any and all such acts. As such, she added that the Transport Ministry will take all necessary actions to combat corruption.
Transport Ministry recently cancelled over 200 vehicle registrations for not following regulations.
