A man has been stabbed in the back with a sharp object in N. Velidhoo following a dispute among a group of friends.
Velidhoo Council President Athif Hussain told 'One' on Wednesday night that the Council received reports of the incident on Tuesday night. Athif said the dispute happened between a group of friends and did not provide any further details.
"The dispute did not occur between two groups. They're the same group of friends and the stabbing took place after a dispute amongst themselves," Athif said.
Velidhoo Health Centre's in-charge Yamin Abdul Azeez told 'One' on Wednesday night that a man was brought into the Health Centre around 0130hrs on Tuesday night.
The man had suffered an injury to his head and had been stabbed in the back, Yamin said. However, Yamin did not specify the extent of his injuries.
Yamin said that the man has been sent to Male' for further treatment following initial doctor examinations at the Health Centre as the man unable to walk properly due to his injuries.
