Addu City Hithadhoo shore protection project works have begun.
At the ceremony held at Addu City on Wednesday, the project was inaugurated by Planning and Housing Minister, Mohamed Aslam. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)’s CEO Adam Azim also participated in the ceremony along with Hithadhoo constituency MP Mohamed Aslan and Addu City Mayor Ali Nizar.
Scope of work for the project include shore protection works on 570m area on the west end of the island, excavation and dredging of 50x15m area to build a swimming area, and installation of a 100m breakwater alongside the swimming area.
MTCC was contracted with the project in November 2021.
The project is valued at MVR 11.6 million.
