Body found believed to be that of missing youth, Mohamed Azhan, Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said.

MPS said they have recovered a body believed to be of the youth who went missing in Hulhumalé Phase II. MPS recovered the body around 1745hrs, they said.

MPS did not give further details regarding where the body was recovered.

However, MPS said they will share further information regarding their operation sometime on Sunday night.

MPS had previously stated that Azhan was last seen near the Redbull stadium in Hulhumalé Phase I. Azhan was also seen on CCTV footage, getting into a white taxi near Hiyaa Tower 13.

Azhan was reported missing last Monday around 1900hrs. Azhan was last seen wearing a peach coloured floral shirt.
