Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has revealed that one of the scammers identified by the Maldives Police Service (MPS) for an alleged scam under the name of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), is one of their employees.

Police publicized photos of the two scammers last September, seeking public help in identifying and catching them.

One of the scammers was wearing the MPL uniform in the photos publicized by the Police.

Upon being questioned, MPL CEO Shahid Ali revealed that they have identified the employee in the picture.

Shahid further noted that they have informed the Police about it and that the Police highlighted that the case is currently being investigated, following which action will be taken against the employee.

The Media Official at MPL also confirmed to One Online that the disciplinary committee is also looking into the case.

Police had also publicized a video with both scammers.

A Police Media Officer had also confirmed to One Online that they have been able to identify one of the scammers, though no arrests have been made as of yet since it was an ongoing investigation.
