Maldives Meteorology (MET) has revealed that the current rainy weather is part of the monsoon rains in the Maldives, with the weather being particularly bad this week.

An official at the MET Office revealed to One Online that the coming days will witness rainy weather, especially for the Northern and Central Atolls.

They further added that seas will be rough across the country this week paired with strong winds. They also highlighted that the rains will continue on and off until November.

The official further noted that even though this week is predicted to have bad weather, it would start to lighten up by next week.

While seas are currently rough, there has been an upward spike in fisheries following a long period of subpar fishing. Mid-Term holidays for the schools will also commence next Thursday. Hence, MET Office had appealed all to be cautious while traveling.
