Maldives took home Gold Awards in 21 categories at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2021.

A total of 106 awards were given out during the Gala Night of SATA, held at Adaaran Hudhuranfushi last night. This includes 44 Gold Awards, 48 Silver Awards and 6 Visitor's Choice Awards.

Out of this, Maldives won a total of 30 awards; 21 Gold Awards and 9 Silver Awards.

During the ceremony, awards in six different categories for Visitor's Choice were also given.

As such, the Leading Honeymoon Destination was won by the Maldives while India won Leading Heritage Destination and Leading MICE Destination, and Nepal won Leading Adventure Destination.

Bangladesh won the Emerging Destination Award while Sri Lankan's Sri Lankan Airlines won the Leading International Airline Award.
