Former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has left on a visit to Dh. Kudahuvadhoo.
Yameen was welcomed by a large number of Kudahuvadhoo residents gathered at the airport. This marks the first trip Yameen has made since accepting PPM/PNC's presidential ticket for the 2023 elections.
PPM/PNC Spokesperson Heena Waleed told 'One' on Tuesday that Yameen will be meeting the residents of Kudahuvadhoo and partaking in party activities during his visit. Heena added that Yameen will be joining the PPM/PNC gathering in the island on Thursday night.
Yameen has visited multiple islands since he was released from prison. As such, he has visited F. Nilandhoo, K. Guraidhoo and K. Thulusdhoo. These visits were part of the campaign to support and strengthen the 'India Out' movement.
He also visited Komandoo constituency islands during the bi-election. Yameen's most recent trip was to R. Dhuvaafaru during which he also worked to strengthen the 'India Out' movement.
